the berkeley berkhamsted's wine-art bar
When Paul Rozelaar, owner of The Berkeley Gallery in Lower Kings Road, Berkhamsted approached us last year with an intriguing challenge, we were keen to accept… Transform an art gallery into a bar, where great art happily meets high quality wine, whilst retaining a retail reputation built up over twenty years. Add to this a unique method of dispensing the wines, and you get a feel for what we had on the drawing board. Challenge accepted!
“Berkhamsted was certainly in need of a bar, and the method of dispensing the wine, coupled with the art lined walls makes The Berkeley unique.” says Yellow Yoyo Director, Amanda. “We’ve enjoyed being at the very heart of this project and creating all aspects of the design – from the elegant branding, print, digital design and advertising to the sumptuous colours, hand crafted cabinets, stylish interior and welcoming premium appeal of the bar.”
The Berkeley is indeed unique within the Three Counties as one of the first independent wine bars in the country to install atmospherically controlled wine dispensers that keep each bottle at optimum temperature, prevents wine from being altered by oxygen and ‘protects its taste, aroma, body, and colour for up to 21 days (Enomatic)’.
Paul Rozelaar has this to say:
“Working with Yellow Yoyo has been a really positive experience. The team totally got what I wanted to achieve here and have been instrumental in bringing The Berkeley concept to life. Not only do they bring significant retail and brand experience to the table, their passion and continued support is clear in every aspect of the process, from design brief through to the finished bar where we look forward to sharing many a drink with the Yellow Yoyo team!
Our customers too have given their seal of approval. An accolade well deserved!”
We’re delighted in the finished article. We look forward to a long relationship with The Berkeley team, to their growth and success.
